HTL.Tech Launches First UK 3D Construction Printing Training Course At Accrington & Rossendale College
On the 25th of October, we were delighted to be featured on BBC News North West Tonight covering the upcoming Charter Street Development with Building for Humanity CIC.
In preparation for the Charter Street Development, HTL has been conducting R&D at Accrington & Rossendale College since July 2022. The aim of the R&D program has been to prototype construction-ready building details and a new material delivery method, collectively providing a breakthrough to the scalability of 3DCP in the UK.
This is the only COBOD BOD2 of its kind currently in the UK and having been able to do testing in the UK in preparation for our upcoming projects, has been a great opportunity.
On the the 21st and the 24th of October, HTL in conjunction with Accrington & Rossendale college successfully launched the first 3D Construction Printing training course in the UK. The aim of the course is to provide a holistic overview of 3DCP technology with the intent to educate and inform individuals from both industry and academia.
This first course of its kind in the UK involving this emerging and exciting technology allows an in-depth look at the technology from both a technical and practical perspective. Presented by Dr Marchant van den Heever, Technical Director at HTL.tech, the participants, from a diverse backgrounds that represented academia and industry, were able to engage in thoughtful discussions on how we can successfully integrate the two avenues to facilitate the success and positive impact of the technology in the UK.
Further to our R&D pursuits, an integral part of HTL is being able to educate people from different industries and backgrounds on the benefits, the future and the scope of 3d construction printing.
HTL.tech is very passionate about training and education in 3d construction printing technology. Integrating the technology into the existing trade training framework is vital to ensure that 3DCP is successfully implemented alongside the existing construction sector.
